Colson Foster is a young filmmaker from Cincinnati, Ohio, who moved to Chicago, Illinois to pursue his dreams of attending film school. While he has explored the craft of cinematic storytelling since the age of 10, in the last two years he has dived further to release multiple short film productions with his own equipment and crew, under the name "Charcoal Cinemas". As a transgender filmmaker, he looks to tell stories that shed light on the human condition, specifically through a gender and queer lens that is often overlooked in the industry. He is set to graduate from Columbia College Chicago in the spring of 2027, with plans of studying in Los Angles and the opportunity to create larger-scale productions through his school.
